Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and helpful Courtesy Clerk to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a key member of our store staff, you will provide exceptional customer service, maintain a clean and organized store environment, and assist with various tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service
- Package purchases and assist customers with delivery to their mode of transportation
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including registers, restrooms, break room, backroom, sweeping, mopping, and tending to supply needs
- Assist customers in transporting purchases to their mode of transportation
- Help train new courtesy clerks
- Check prices on products
- Pull product forward on shelf
- Bring carts in from parking lot and cart corral
- Clean can redemption area and empty recycle bins, where applicable
- Stock, face, and rotate merchandise, clean shelves, understand shelf tags, and know location of merchandise in the store and backroom
- Maintain supplies on front-end, such as paper/plastic sacks, receipt paper, etc.
- Adhere to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
- Report to work when scheduled and on time

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
