Job Summary

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team in Red Hook, Brooklyn. As a Customer Service Representative, you will provide friendly, pro-active servicing of customer needs to continually exceed expectations. You will be responsible for opening new accounts, completing operational duties, and resolving customer service issues expeditiously while providing a personable customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Open new accounts and maintain customer files accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete operational duties as assigned, including those unique to the requirements of assigned branch.
  • Resolve customer service issues expeditiously while providing a personable customer experience.
  • Collect and safeguard sensitive financial data.
  • Perform recorded callbacks to verify wiring instructions.
  • Use a variety of banking systems to service customers.
  • Describe and cross-sell the Bank's products and services as appropriate to benefit customers.
  • Identify fraudulent activity to prevent potential losses and maintain awareness of current fraud alerts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Bank products and services and applicable Federal regulations.
  • Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Associates' Degree.
  • At least one year of prior cash handling experience in either a retail banking environment or in a check-cashing business.
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
  • Strong math and computer skills, as well as analytical abilities.
  • Ability to build new customer relationships and/or strengthen existing relationships.
  • Preferred knowledge of banking products and services, as well as banking regulations and compliance issues involving customer transactions.
  • Upbeat and outgoing personality with a strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to assist/support other areas and grow within the Bank.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be a team player and a strong communicator.
What We Offer

Hourly Pay Range: $23 - $25; commensurate with experience.
