Key Responsibilities

  • Network Design and Implementation

Design and deploy complex routing and switching configurations to support our organization's network infrastructure.

Network Security

Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot firewall systems to protect our network from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.

Remote Access and Site-to-Site Connectivity

Implement and manage VPN solutions for secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.

Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.

Network Capacity Planning and Optimization

Conduct network capacity planning and optimization to meet current and future business needs.

Documentation and Maintenance

Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures.

Emerging Technologies and Industry Trends

Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance our network infrastructure.

System Monitoring and Performance

Monitor system statistics, including disk space, memory parameters, and other factors affecting system performance.

Security and Compliance

Maintain vigilance for security breaches and violations of the firm's computer usage policy.

Vendor Performance and Support

Track vendor performance on repairs, maintenance, and other services.

Communication and Collaboration

Meet regularly with the supervisor to discuss project status and requests.

After-Hours Support

Requirements

  • Education and Experience

High school diploma or the equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred, with 4+ years of experience in enterprise level networking and security administration, monitoring, and/or troubleshooting.

Technical Skills

Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on routing, switching, and firewall technologies.

Industry Certifications

An industry-level certification related to routing and switching technology is preferred.

Proficiency in Routing and Switching

Proficiency in routing protocols, switching technologies, and in configuring and troubleshooting firewall platforms such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, or Fortinet.

Microsoft Windows Server and Cloud Experience

Experience with Microsoft Windows Server OS, server hardware, Office 365, Azure, and VMware is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Routing and Switching Experience

Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., NetMon, ThousandEyes, PRTG, ControlUp, Wireshark).

Cloud Experience

Experience with cloud-based servers, including VMware, Microsoft Azure, and Private Cloud environments.
