We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician II to join our team at Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of data center hardware and systems, as well as excellent installation and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate data center infrastructure requirements and coordinate necessary resources to prepare space for equipment installation.
- Coordinate facilities resources, such as electric and cooling, for specialized equipment.
- Provision cabling, floor cutouts, and rack rails for IT device installation.
- Perform end-to-end installation of patch cables and management cabling.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repair of failed installation components.
- Follow labeling standards and maintain configuration changes and inventory information.
- Adhere to data center safety rules and installation standards.
- Perform other duties as required, including uncrating and unboxing equipment.
- Associate degree or vocational degree in Information Technology Systems preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of data center hardware and cable installation experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required for Top Secret Clearance with SCI-CI Poly.
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI-CI Poly eligibility.
- Knowledge of National Standards, including BICSI, TIA-606, and TIA-942.
- Current industry foundational technology certification or vendor-specific technician level certification.
The Data Center Hardware Technician II role requires physical demands, including lifting, cabling, and kneeling. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and use various tools and equipment.
