About the Job
This role involves providing mobile maintenance services for Ryder's fleet of heavy-duty trucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, and ensuring that all vehicles are in good working condition. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will work independently and as part of a team to provide exceptional customer service and support to Ryder's customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks, including oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, and fuel systems
- Ensure that all vehicles are in good working condition, meeting safety and regulatory standards
- Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions to meet their requirements
- Collaborate with other technicians and support staff to achieve team goals and objectives
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights of up to 10 feet
- Valid CDL Class A license required; non-commercial driver's license preferred
- Basic tools and equipment provided by Ryder; personal tools may be used if necessary
