This 1-year Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency position is located in Sioux Falls, SD at the Avera Human Performance Center. We are seeking current clinicians or new graduates looking to accelerate their expertise in manual therapy, orthopedics, and clinical reasoning. Avera Health and Evidence in Motion have partnered to provide this residency experience, which is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE).
Clinical mentors in the program are Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS) and/or Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). The residency program includes rotations through various education modules, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to physical therapy principles and departmental objectives. Under the supervision of the Residency Program Coordinator and assigned mentor(s), the resident will participate in daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must hold a graduate degree from an accredited physical therapy program of the American Physical Therapy Association. Additionally, licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of South Dakota is required. A valid driver's license is also necessary for this role.
