Housekeeping Professional

Dahlonega Senior Living is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Professional to join our team.

**Job Summary:**

As a Housekeeping Professional, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our residential homes and public areas.

**Responsibilities:**

* Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation in all assigned areas
* Follow cleaning schedules and instructions as directed by the supervisor
* Sweep and vacuum all assigned areas
* Clean and polish all room furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and heating/air conditioning units
* Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
* Clean all community showers, toilets, sinks, countertops, and baseboards
* Stock with paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and shampoo
* Clean and check model rooms
* Clean all hallways, stairways, etc.
* Clean employee break area when necessary
* Empty trash in offices and public areas
* Report any unsafe/hazardous conditions to the supervisor
* Keep janitor closets and housekeeping supply rooms clean and orderly

**Requirements:**

* One year related experience in a similar environment with on-the-job training preferred
* Must be able to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
* Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
* Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member and individually
* Must be honest, fair, and dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others and local, state, and federal laws
* Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
* Must meet all health requirements
* Must pass a criminal background check
* Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation

**Working Conditions:**

* Scheduled hours; possible overtime
* Subject to frequent interruptions
* Involved with residents, personnel, and visitors under all conditions and circumstances
* Subject to callback during emergency conditions
* Subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc.
* May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals

**Physical/Sensory Requirements:**

* Medium work: the ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
* Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day
* Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staff
* Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the community
