Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Volunteers of America Mid-States. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing direct care, training, and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor the comfort and safety of consumers served, ensuring their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
  2. Interact with consumers in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner, reinforcing positive behaviors.
  3. Provide transportation and assist consumers with integration into the community.
  4. Perform general housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, and laundry duties.
  5. Complete assigned cleaning tasks and general maintenance to maintain a clean environment.
  6. Participate in ongoing training programs and attend mandatory staff meetings.
  7. Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma preferred. Ability to read, write, and understand English. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
