About the Role

Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist I to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing MRI procedures with a high level of proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency.
  • Prepare patients for procedures with a full explanation and document on appropriate worksheets.
  • Interview patients for a complete medical history and review EMR's to obtain pertinent clinical history.
  • Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with Radiologists as needed.
  • Assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies and perform MRI scanning and assist Physicians/PA during invasive procedures.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to the department director/manager/supervisor and clinical engineering/radiology engineer.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills required to work safely in an environment that can create significant exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease.
  • Adhere to hospital fire and safety procedures and operate radiology computer system to include entering orders and charging procedures/supplies.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in a ARMRIT or ARRT registry eligible program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology, ARRT or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI required within one year of hire.
