Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our AWS Fintech team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting an analytical platform that provides ad hoc access to large datasets and computing power.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an analytical platform to provide ad hoc access to large datasets and computing power.
  • Manage AWS resources, including EC2, RDS, Redshift, Lambda, and others.
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies.
  • Build robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala).
  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell, Scala).
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, and dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
