Welder Specialist

G&W Electric is a global leader in engineered electrical power grid solutions, and we're seeking a skilled Welder I to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate welding equipment, including atmospheric control equipment, to perform complex welding operations on a wide range of metals and alloys.
• Assemble, align, and tack weld complicated subassemblies and assemblies using various equipment and tools.
• Fit parts using torches, carbon arc, or hand grinding equipment to facilitate alignment and assembly.
• Regulate pressure, current, and voltage for proper penetration and fusion of metals.
• Perform Mig/Tig welding and preventive maintenance procedures as needed.
• Provide personal tools and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Train others in welding tasks as needed and inspect work to ensure it meets requirements.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of formal welding training or equivalent level of experience.
• Three years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and bills of material.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to perform Mig and Tig welding.
