Church Custodian

The Church Custodian position at First United Methodist Church of Honolulu is a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our church buildings and grounds.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are ready for use, interacting with staff, members, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, and performing various maintenance tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of church facilities, including but not limited to, sanctuary, education buildings, and outdoor spaces.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Unlock/lock building entrances, offices, and classrooms as scheduled and/or after every use.

Requirements:

• Janitorial cleaning and routine grounds maintenance experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, and visitors.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in routine janitorial/maintenance work preferred, or willingness to be trained to competency.

Work Hours:

• Up to 40 hours per week.
• May include additional nights, weekends, and holiday hours.

Estimated Salary: $38,000 - $50,000 per year.
