Job Summary
As a Chaplain Assistant with the Army National Guard, you will provide vital support to Army National Guard Chaplains, who are responsible for providing spiritual guidance and support to Soldiers. Your primary duties will include coordinating Unit Ministry Team activities, maintaining physical security of Unit Ministry Team facilities/equipment, and safeguarding privileged communications and offerings. You will also assist in planning religious support operations and deployments, maintain reports, files, and administrative data for religious operations, and conduct specialized peer counseling for combat stress casualties.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate communication equipment and digital reporting systems to ensure seamless communication and data management
• Assist in planning and coordinating religious support operations and deployments to meet the spiritual needs of Soldiers
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports, files, and administrative data for religious operations to ensure effective decision-making
• Provide specialized peer counseling for combat stress casualties to support the mental health and well-being of Soldiers
Requirements
• Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate Unit Ministry Team activities and maintain accurate records
• Ability to operate communication equipment and digital reporting systems to ensure seamless communication and data management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to maintain accurate and up-to-date reports, files, and administrative data for religious operations

Instead of paying to learn these skills, get paid to train. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.
Job training for Chaplains Assistants requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training, where you will learn the roles and responsibilities of Army Chaplains, as well as religious history and background.
