The Sanitation Services Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients, residents, visitors, and staff by adhering to infection control protocols, safety measures, and operational guidelines.

Responsibilities encompass waste disposal, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors using various cleaning tools and machines.

Demonstrate proficiency in housekeeping techniques and equipment within a healthcare setting, ensuring a clean and sterile environment for all.

Areas of responsibility include patient and resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other designated workspaces, all while meeting health standards.

Proper protective equipment must be worn in accordance with safety guidelines. Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, equipment, and carts.

Sanitation Services Specialists will utilize pagers and other technologies as required. Depending on the location and available programs, access to various technology applications may be provided.



This role involves physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials, requiring the individual to be on their feet for the majority of the shift. Exposure to noise from operational equipment may occur.

Work hours may vary based on patient and resident needs, potentially including overtime, on-call duties, nights, weekends, and holidays.

A minimum of six months of experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning is preferred. Familiarity with computers and prior cleaning experience is advantageous. Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, methods, and chemicals is beneficial, with previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment being a plus.
