Pipefitter III

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pipefitter III to join our team in National City, CA. As a key member of our ship repair sector, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and sketches to repair, modify, install, and dismantle various pipes and fittings associated with shipboard hydraulic, pneumatic, and water systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to perform pipe fabrication, assembly, and testing
• Perform intermediate setup, alignment, and operation of various portable tools and hand tools used in the trade
• Layout material prior to performing pipe bending operations and machine parts to achieve proper joint design
• Fabricate and install intermediate/complex fixtures, jigs, supports, and targets to ensure proper alignment during the welding process
• Produce quality piping assemblies in difficult or adverse conditions and be proficient in brazing
• Perform flushing/cleaning of piping systems and components in accordance with technical work documents
• Perform pressure testing of completed/assembled piping systems in accordance with technical work documents

• High School/GED with Apprenticeship Diploma and additional vocational courses or technical school graduate, and/or military and/or civilian experience with marine piping systems in a repair department or shipyard
• 8 years' experience
• Ability to obtain government base access
• Ability to understand and perform intermediate setup, alignment, and operation of various portable tools and hand tools used in the trade
• Intermediate knowledge and understanding of shipboard piping systems (repair/installation practices, procedures, pipe bending, alignments, and troubleshooting) and blue print reading
• Ability to communicate effectively, work independently or in a group
• Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide, and multiply
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
• Must be qualified in multiple brazing processes
• Able to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards

Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships)

Able to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs. in weight

Must have manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects

Able to perceive and distinguish normal range of colors

May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots
