At Emory Healthcare, we are seeking an Embryologist to join our team in the Fertility Lab. This is a dynamic role that requires strong analytical and communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex laboratory procedures related to in-vitro fertilization (IVF), including sperm testing, embryo grading, and culturing.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in an IVF lab. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory policies and compliance is essential. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are also required.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all complex laboratory procedures related to IVF, including sperm testing, embryo grading, and culturing
- Conduct lab tests related to IVF treatment, including semen analysis and hormone tests
- Prepare sperm samples for insemination, meeting quality goals as measured by successful inseminations
- Retrieve eggs and perform cumulus removal, meeting established goals for average numbers of eggs retrieved
- Perform conventional and ICSI inseminations, meeting established percentage goals for fertilization
- Select embryos for transfer based on grading and viability, meeting goals established by the Lab Director
- Ensure proficiency in embryo warming and transfers, measured by pregnancy rate per transfer

- Bachelor of Science in biology, chemistry, reproductive Biology, medical technology, or Animal Science from an accredited institution
- Meet state specific certification/licensure requirements, if applicable
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in an IVF lab
- Successfully completed a minimum of 30 documented supervised procedures and 20 independent procedures
- Working knowledge of healthcare regulatory policies and compliance (HIPAA)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a professional manner
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
