Recreation Assistant

Job Summary:
This position is located at the Recreational Shooting Complex, part of the US Army's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program.
The Recreation Assistant will serve as an intermittent employee, working on a scheduled or as needed basis.

This is an open continuous announcement with bi-weekly cutoffs, starting October 24.
Responsibilities:
- Execute range facility opening, closing, and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local, and federal laws.
- Maintain communications and follow instructions of the installation range control agency to ensure safe operations.
- Coordinate medical support through the installation range control agency.
- Instruct patrons on range safety practices and provide general firearm and marksmanship information.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition, and vault security.
- Issue ammunition and range-related accessories to customers, check ID, and collect fees.
- Check inventory and supplies, and request restock.
- May perform cashier duties and maintain records of sales.
- Conduct facility and range maintenance.
- Circulate among patrons to assure service is satisfactory and that customers adhere to safety procedures.
- Receive and resolve customer complaints.
- Direct patrons, schedule use of ranges, conduct briefings, and monitor patrons.
- Coordinate league, competition, and group functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have experience with firing range operations and firearm safety.
- Possess work experience that involved dealing with the general public.
- May have cashier skills.
- Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty.
Highly Preferred Criteria:
- Willing and able to work a rotating schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

PCS Costs:
Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials:
This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure, and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay.
Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between

Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances:
Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
