Patient Care Associate - Flexible Hours

Educational Requirements:High School Diploma
Experience Requirements:No prior experience required
Licensure/Certification:Must possess one or more of the following:
1. Kentucky Registered SRNA, or EMT
2. RN nursing student who has completed the initial fundamental course and clinical training
3. Military Medic
4. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights occasionally, with frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds. The job may involve prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Working conditions may expose individuals to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and potential injuries from patients or sharp instruments.
Work Schedule:Shifts will vary, including days, evenings, nights, and may require weekend and holiday availability. Candidates should be prepared to work a variety of shifts. Orientation may require up to 40 hours per week across any shift for the initial 6 to 8 weeks of employment. Flexibility to work at multiple locations is necessary.
Position Overview:The Patient Care Associate in the flexible hours pool plays a crucial role in delivering patient care, ensuring patient satisfaction, and supporting clinical outcomes. Responsibilities include:
- Providing comfort measures to patients
- Reporting any changes in patient conditions to the registered nurse
This position will serve units across multiple facilities.
Previous experience in a patient care role is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and reliability are essential.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position does not include supervisory duties.
Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience as a Patient Care Associate is preferred, or completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing course and clinical training. Attendance at orientation sessions and unit-specific training is required.
