Job Description

The Rockridge Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cybersecurity Consultant to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and implementing effective cybersecurity strategies to protect our information systems from cyber threats.

About the Role

This position requires a deep understanding of network security, threat analysis, and incident response. The successful candidate will have experience with Splunk/Splunk ES, Cisco AMP, and Varonis, as well as practical expertise in using Splunk SPL to extract actionable insights from security analytics.

The Senior Cybersecurity Consultant will work closely with our Director, Network & Security, to identify and mitigate potential security risks. They will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain security-related policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Prevention and Response: Develop and implement processes to prevent, detect, and respond to IT system incidents, including incident response and reporting.
  • Security Technology Management: Administer and manage security technologies and products, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), security automation, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), endpoint security (EDR), sandboxing, threat intelligence, pen testing & vulnerability management, and identity management.
  • Threat Analysis and Investigation: Conduct in-depth active and passive threat analysis and incident investigation to identify security vulnerabilities or malicious activity.
  • Security Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and alignment with security frameworks.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security, threat analysis, and incident response.
  • Technical Skills: Practical expertise in using Splunk SPL, experience with Splunk/Splunk ES, Cisco AMP, and Varonis, as well as knowledge of firewall/IPS devices and encryption technologies.
  • Certifications: Industry accepted security certifications (CCNA Security, SANS, CISSP, etc.) are a plus.
