Overview:
Niles Community Schools is seeking a passionate and skilled Early Childhood Special Education Teacher dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere for young learners with diverse needs. This role involves delivering tailored educational programs and specialized instruction for students with disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
  • Valid teaching certification in the State of Michigan with endorsements in Early Childhood PK-General and Special Education (ZS)
  • Compliance with the highly qualified standards established by the State of Michigan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a range of evidence-based intervention techniques, regularly evaluating student progress and adjusting strategies to promote success for all learners.
  • Serve as a case coordinator, ensuring the preparation, participation, and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with school protocols.
  • Align student learning objectives with district and state educational standards.
  • Utilize various technological tools to enhance classroom management and instructional delivery.

Desired Attributes:

  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships with students, colleagues, and the broader school community.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Awareness of district policies and educational regulations.
  • Professional attire is expected; casual clothing such as jeans and sweatpants is not appropriate.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) is preferred.

Compensation:
Salary is determined based on the collective bargaining agreement.
