Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in a Clinical Operations Specialist role. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare for surgical procedures by pulling and organizing necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring good working order and reviewing case carts for correct items.
- Perioperative Support: Anticipate the surgeon's needs, pass instruments, and retract tissue during procedures, while maintaining aseptic technique and universal precautions.
- Post-Operative Procedures: Dispose of sharps and trash, place used supplies in case carts for processing, and participate in counting of sharps, instruments, and sponges.
- Quality and Safety: Evaluate quality and safety, seeking opportunities for improvement in patient care, and ensure accuracy of surgeon preference cards and pick lists.
- Operational Support: Assist with OR turnover between cases, participate in stocking and replenishing supplies, and clean operating rooms.
- Business Support: Provide administrative support to the department, including assigned tasks, and manage preference cards in coordination with key stakeholders.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, and current basic life support certification.
- Experience: Certified as a surgical technologist with one to two years of experience, or three to four years of experience in a surgical technologist role.
- Skills: Manual dexterity, ability to maintain professional decorum in stressful situations, and ability to respond quickly to the needs of the surgeon and patient.
