Position Overview

Role Summary:
This position involves professional responsibilities including the evidence-based assessment of patient disabilities, along with the planning and execution of physical therapy interventions. The incumbent will maintain documentation, educate patients, families, and students, and engage in the development and management of clinical programs. Active participation in continuing education, departmental initiatives, community outreach, and mentorship of students is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Assessment: Conduct both basic and advanced diagnostic evaluations in Physical Therapy to address mobility issues and related conditions.
2. Instruction: Educate and supervise graduate Physical Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents. Contribute to innovative patient care programs and serve as a resource for other clinicians in specialized areas.
3. Care Evaluation: Review diagnostic and therapeutic testing results to set patient objectives and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Identify anticipated patient outcomes and ensure effective communication to facilitate continuity of care.
4. Service Implementation: Select and apply contemporary and advanced techniques to deliver high-quality rehabilitative services. Provide habilitation, rehabilitation, and maintenance for individuals with mobility impairments, prioritizing care based on patient and family needs.
5. Community Engagement: Act as a resource for local health departments and statewide health professionals in specialized fields. Present at local or state levels, participate in community health initiatives, and assist in developing new clinical programs to address emerging needs.
6. Team Participation: Enhance the quality of clinical services through active involvement in departmental meetings and training sessions.
7. Quality Assurance: Contribute to the quality of clinical services by maintaining accurate and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Engage in quality improvement initiatives alongside clinical specialists and other healthcare professionals.

Education Requirements:
● Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
● BLS certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● No prior experience necessary.
