Salary Information

The hourly rate for this role is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour, based on factors such as education, experience, certifications, and local labor markets. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility requirements).

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will perform patient-oriented procedures under the direction and supervision of a clinician, RN, or LVN to ensure safe and appropriate patient care. This includes assisting with minor medical and surgical procedures, performing clerical and administrative duties related to patient care assistance, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Consistently exhibit behavior and communication skills that demonstrate superior customer service, quality care, and concern for internal and external customers.
  • Protect and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) according to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Anticipate clinicians' needs and carry out orders efficiently.
  • Check patient arrival status and escort patients from waiting areas to exam rooms or ancillary services as needed.
  • Record and report vital signs and other pertinent patient information to RNs, LVNs, or clinicians.
  • Perform medical procedures and medication administration within scope of certification.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant experience.
  • BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel to client or patient sites within a designated area.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:

  • 1+ years of experience in an ambulatory care setting or military experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience.
  • Experience in primary care or specialty care, such as pediatrics, pain management, cardiology, urology, orthopedics, oncology, senior care, OBGYN, urgent care.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
