About the Role:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Machinist with a strong background in machine maintenance and repair.
  • You will be responsible for setting up and operating standard machine tools and other machinery to close tolerances in manufacturing machine parts.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, ability to read and interpret blueprints, and experience in welding and maintaining laser welding equipment.
  • As a Machinist - 2, you will work closely with other personnel to ensure quality standards are met, and contribute to Lean Initiatives by observing company processes and making recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced machine repair
  • Sets-up and operates standard machine tools and other machinery to close tolerances in manufacturing machine parts
  • Builds gauges as required
  • Meets with other personnel regarding instruction, in the design, maintenance or repair of machinery and equipment to assure quality standard
  • Operates forklift trucks and other material devices in the movement of heavy machinery
  • Performs Lock out/Tag out safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements
  • Maintains required records
  • Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Participates in Lean Projects

Qualifications:

  • High School, Trade School graduate or demonstrated equivalent skills
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of machine maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to operate Forklift equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Experience in the maintaining of Laser Welding equipment & fixtures highly desirable
  • Ability to make independent judgment decisions

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
