Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders on corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the company's business and industry, and provide expert legal advice to management and departments on a wide range of legal issues
  • Engage strategically in risk assessment and mitigation, and develop innovative approaches to legal issues in support of business objectives
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure they are legally sound and align with the company's interests
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and advise on potential liabilities
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure legal considerations are integrated into business decisions
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including industry-specific regulations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external legal firms, government agencies, and regulatory bodies
  • Advise the HR team on federal, multi-state, and international employment law
  • Partner with the HR team on employment practices, employment handbook updates, and HR compliance training
  • Represent the company directly and/or manage outside counsels in litigation matters and other legal issues
  • Advise and support corporate governance-related matters
  • Create reports and work with the parent company/affiliates in Korea
  • Train employees on legal matters and company policies to promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the state bar
  • 4-8 years of legal experience, with substantial in-house experience
  • Proven track record of managing complex legal issues and providing strategic legal advice
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to draft clear, concise contracts and agreements
  • Effective management of a high volume of work through various methods of organization, project and task management, and prioritization
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate potential problems, and design creative solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with a global organization and familiarity with working cross-culturally and with those of diverse backgrounds and perspectives
  • Korean bilingual skills preferred
