Under the supervision of a Dentist, the Dental Hygiene Specialist provides comprehensive periodontal care, including cleanings and examinations, to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, dental procedures, and post-operative instructions to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Monitor and reinforce adherence to instrument sterilization and operatory disinfection protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Document procedures in patient charts and review patient health histories to inform treatment decisions.
  • Provide comprehensive periodontal care, including scaling, root planning, prophylaxis, and education to promote oral health and prevent disease.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
  • Registered dental hygienist license, x-ray license, and current CPR certification.
  • One year experience in a Dental Office or Clinic preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Wisdom/EPIC EHR skills a plus.
  • Sensitivity to the needs and situations of a multi-cultural, low-income population.
