About the Role:
This position is responsible for providing primary care to ill/injured patients at referring facilities and during transports to receiving facilities. The successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other Pediflite team members to provide high-quality pre-hospital and inter-facility advanced critical care
- Transport patients via ground or air while adhering to hospital protocols and guidelines
- Assist team leaders in obtaining pertinent histories, performing physical assessments, and implementing management plans
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice as a paramedic
- Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate stabilization of emergency care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
- Function as a medical flight member by attending pre-mission briefings, mission debriefings, and completing necessary documentation
- Maintain control of workflow by prioritizing and organizing multiple tasks and projects
Required Qualifications:
- Technical degree or diploma in paramedicine
- 1-3 years of driving an ambulance
- 5-7 years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician
- 3-5 years of experience as a paramedic
- Class D license with F endorsement from Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission
- EMS driver certification from Mississippi State Department of Health
- Paramedic certification from Mississippi State Department of Health
- Paramedic certification from Tennessee issuer
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification from American Heart Association
- Heartsaver CPR AED (CPR) certification from American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification from American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification from American Heart Association
Working Environment:
- Heavy work exerting up to 150 lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs frequently
- Must have good balance and coordination
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact
- Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials
