Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Bayhealth. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients within a assigned unit. This includes developing patient-centered plans of care, maintaining confidentiality of patient medical records, and counseling and educating patients and their care partners on treatment plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified populations of patients in the acute care setting.
  • Develop patient-centered plans of care based on individualized needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
  • Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
  • Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
  • Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
  • Demonstrate quality, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
  • Demonstrate standards of excellence, including practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork, and integrity.
  • Participate in decision-making and take actions based on ethical principles.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Credential(s): Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Required: 1 year of experience in a relevant specialty. Preferred: 2 years of experience in a relevant specialty.
