Essential Functions of the Licensed Veterinary Technician

As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional care to our patients while maximizing clinic productivity. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians with examinations and ensuring the safe handling of animals before, during, and after procedures
  • Performing diagnostic imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans to aid in accurate diagnoses
  • Maintaining a clean and sterile environment by cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing kennels, exam rooms, and equipment
  • Updating medical charts, administering medications and treatments, and providing care to animals during their visit
  • Communicating effectively with pet owners to provide clear and concise information about their pets' health
  • Additional responsibilities for qualified technicians may include performing dental prophylaxis, placing IVCs, venipuncture, and assisting with surgeries
