Job Summary

The Slot Technician I is responsible for maintaining the operational order of all gaming machines and related equipment at Wind Creek Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes reports related to slot equipment performance to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Prepares and tests slot machines to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Maintains a sense of urgency in responding to calls for assistance or when dispatched to resolve issues promptly.
  • Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned slot machines to prevent malfunctions.
  • Moves and installs slot machines as needed to ensure efficient operations.
  • Researches and diagnoses game equipment malfunctions to identify and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoots, reads meters, and performs regular maintenance on slot machines to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Communicates all information to fellow Technicians and Game Management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Takes initiative to ask for and offer help to guests, co-associates, and management to provide excellent customer service.
  • Works closely with Vendor Technicians to resolve complex issues and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Adheres to Internal Controls (ICs), Company, and Departmental Expectations to maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Helps maintain a working inventory of parts and supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Performs the duties and responsibilities associated with the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • One (1) year experience in a casino Gaming or casino IT department required or one (1) year experience working with computers or electronics required.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 150 pounds using a dolly.
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition.
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position.
  • Willing and able to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment.
