Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist

UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.

Responsibilities
  • Produces diagnostic ultrasound images of patients in conformance with established department techniques and procedures.
  • Consistently utilizes a holistic approach to patient care, considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria.
  • Provides proper explanation of procedures to patients, their families, and others as needed.
  • Coordinates patient workflow and schedules for efficient patient care.
  • Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination while assisting providers with procedures.
  • Evaluates requisitions for proper completion of ultrasound examinations and completes additional paperwork for record keeping.
  • Maintains knowledge of all ultrasound equipment in the department.
  • Covers call and rotates shift to ensure proper coverage for ultrasound.
  • Assists in the educational training of student radiology technologists.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited ARDMS program.
  • No experience required.
  • ARDMS Registered in Physics and 2 categories within 1 year of hire, with Abdomen as 1 required category.
  • Maintain ARDMS CEU requirements.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
