Job Summary

We are seeking a board eligible/board certified psychiatrist to provide psychiatric support services for the evaluation, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of adolescents admitted to or residing within the Human Services Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose patients and establish treatment plans for adolescent patients
  • Serve as a member of a treatment team to review and determine prescribed treatment
  • Prescribe medication for patients and monitor therapeutic progress
  • Instruct medical students in treatment methodology and evaluate their work
  • Provide consultations as requested
Requirements
  • Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of South Dakota
  • Knowledge of methods and principles of medicine, diagnosis, care, and treatment of patients, including adolescents, with mental illness
  • Ability to diagnose and classify mental disorders with established criteria as set forth in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual
  • Ability to write psychiatric evaluation reports and discharge summaries
  • Ability to prescribe appropriate medications and monitor results
