Hospital Security Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Security Officer to join our team at St. Tammany Health System. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of security officers, ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the activities of security officers, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance.
- Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and security breaches.
- Monitor and control access to the hospital, including issuing passes and monitoring visitor traffic.
- Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including security protocols and emergency response plans.
- Collaborate with hospital staff, including medical and administrative personnel, to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of armed security-related experience, with 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Certification or registration with the Louisiana State Board of Private Security examiners is recommended.
- Must be certified by a State certified, recognized, and St. Tammany Health Systems-approved firearms, handcuffing, and/or law enforcement training entity.
- Must not have any felony convictions.
- Must own and maintain ownership of a privately owned cellular phone for emergencies and on-call events.
- Must satisfactorily complete firearm training, written tests, and qualify on the firing range.
- Must be eligible and willing to work 12-hour shifts, day and/or night, including weekends.
- Prior experience as a Police Officer's Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certified law enforcement officer, federal law enforcement officer, military enforcement officer, or armed hospital security officer preferred.
- Training and experience with conflict resolution and ability to de-escalate hostile situations desirable.
The physical demands of this position include standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time, lifting at least 100 pounds, and performing other physical tasks as required.
