Job Summary

Yale University's Public Safety Department is seeking a highly skilled Physical Security Systems Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Systems division, you will be responsible for managing our physical security systems, including access control, closed-circuit video, intrusion alarm, and other systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable solutions for security system installations, upgrades, repairs, and change outs.
  • Research and test new security technologies, systems, equipment, components, and products.
  • Provide recommendations for technology enhancements and improvements, and perform due diligence in assessing new technology solutions, including cost and budget preparation.
  • Oversight of all aspects of the University access control systems, including planning, design, installation, and maintenance for new and existing clients.
  • Establish and implement effective, predictable, and measurable processes and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentations, and presentations.
  • Oversight of systems integration functions, working with and providing direction to outside consultants.
  • Suggest areas for improvements in internal processes by remaining on the forefront of emerging industry best practices on security systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, problem-solving, team-building, and customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage up.
  • Extensive background in electronic security systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience encompassing both office-based and field operations.
  • Experience working with large access control systems, intrusion systems, and IP-based video management systems.
  • IT experience and understanding of network infrastructure.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, and Windows.
Working Conditions

This position requires occasional weekend and evening hours. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a DMV check are required.
