Char-Em ISD is looking for a reliable and committed individual to become a part of our team as a part-time Bus Driver for the academic year.


Position:

  • Part-Time Bus Driver for the Academic Year

Schedule:

  • School Days, 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
  • Optional additional trips during and after school hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive a school bus along designated routes in the afternoon (approximately 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM) on school days.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections to confirm the bus is in safe operating condition.
  • Oversee students and maintain order to ensure a secure environment.
  • Follow scheduled routes and adhere to timetables.
  • Opportunity to drive for extra trips related to field excursions and sports events, providing transportation for various extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
  • Previous experience in bus driving or a comparable role is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with transportation regulations.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $23.16 to $28.73, based on experience.
  • Supportive work environment.
  • Training and certification assistance for candidates lacking the necessary endorsements.
