Job Summary

Deaconess Health System is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Authorization Benefit Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

The Authorization Benefit Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our authorization processes, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the necessary care and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pre-certification of scheduled outpatient procedures to prevent negative reimbursement to the hospital or penalty to the patient
  • Excellent communication and professional service with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong communication and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to do basic math

Requirements

  • Completion of High School or GED
  • Two to four years' experience in a physician's office, hospital registration, collection agency, hospital or professional billing, or training at an educational institution that includes medical billing

Work Environment

This role allows for part-time telecommuting/remote work, but will require occasional on-site work and travel to Evansville, IN.
