Position Overview:

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting Head Chefs and the kitchen staff to ensure a high-quality culinary experience. This position involves overseeing kitchen operations and staff to maintain food quality standards. Responsibilities include participating in menu development and food preparation while ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee food preparation and train staff in culinary techniques.
  • Delegate tasks among kitchen personnel to meet production requirements.
  • Collaborate with management to align food orders with menu needs.
  • Assist in determining food quantities for menu execution.
  • Manage the use of surplus food to control costs.
  • Engage in food preparation across various departments.
  • Handle food orders and inspect deliveries.
  • Participate in serving, dishwashing, and special events as needed.
  • Ensure proper completion of food production records and temperature logs.
  • Contribute to daily cleaning tasks and uphold sanitation standards.
  • Conduct health inspections and guide team members on cleanliness protocols.
  • Assist in training staff on sanitation practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, kneel, and twist.

  • Reports to: Unit Manager and Head Chef.

  • Hourly Rate: $17.55.
