BIM Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Specialist to join our team at MMR Group, Inc.

The BIM Specialist will be responsible for designing and coordinating building information models, assisting with system design, and preparing sketches and drawings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with MEP Revit and Microsoft Excel, as well as strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Design and coordinate building information models, including coordination, shop drawings, and as-builts.
• Assist with system design and model all content, coordinating with other trades as needed.
• Prepare sketches and drawings showing location of wiring and equipment within designated job specifications.
• Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes and read and comprehend contract documents.
• Read one-lines, panel schedules, and other documents to execute 3D modeling.
• Work with site foremen to ensure clarity and ease of constructing modeled work into a built environment.
• Review construction drawings for conflicts with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire alarm, and structural contract documents, ensuring compliance with local code requirements.
• Work closely with project management team to resolve issues identified during reviews through the Request For Information (RFI) process.
• Coordinate draft construction drawings with other trades to ensure routings and clearances are understood and no obstructions exist.
• Perform site surveys and field measurement work as needed to support conceptual and design drawing effort.
• Review submittal documents for accuracy and maintain logs as needed for RFIs, transmittals, and drawings.
• Identify and resolve issues with clients, architects, engineers, building owners, and vendors related to construction drawings and drawings of record.
• Work with point cloud files and survey points to provide as-built conditions.

• High School diploma or GED equivalency; Associates Degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working as a BIM Coordinator, Detailer, or Modeler.
• Proficient in MEP Revit and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong computer skills and aptitude for learning.
• Detail-oriented with ability to recognize errors quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to juggle multiple high-priority tasks.
• Working knowledge of general construction, electrical parts, and their intended use.
• Ability to effectively solve problems.
