Job Title: Polysomnographer

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographer to join our team at CGH Medical Center. As a Polysomnographer, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.

Job Summary:

The Polysomnographer will work under the supervision of the clinical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This will involve performing polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, and patient care and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect, analyze, and integrate patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
  • Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to patients and respond to procedural-related inquiries.
  • Complete and verify documentation, including patient care and medical records.
  • Prepare patient records for physician review.
  • Perform testing preparation procedures, including equipment calibration and electrode application.
  • Follow procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data.
  • Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center-specific protocols.
  • Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of an accredited or educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in Polysomnography or Respiratory Care.
  • Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state license and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience.
  • Must be registered by the ABSM, NBRC, or BRPT (RST, RPSGT, RRT-SDS) or accepted to sit for the registry examination.
  • Must complete BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain throughout employment at CGH.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite software.
