Job Title: Clinical Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corp. The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals following diagnosis and through all stages of treatment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patients with acute and chronic problems related to cancer and cancer therapies.
  • Provide direct patient care to oncology and hematology patients receiving outpatient infusion and other therapies.
  • Manage a select caseload of patients receiving chemotherapy/biotherapy/supportive care on an outpatient basis.
  • Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy/supportive care, perform patient assessment, and provide symptom management and patient and family education.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Act as part of a multidisciplinary team providing continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up.
  • Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial and nutritional support needs.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment, to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor degree in Nursing.
  • Valid, current, full and unrestricted Professional Nursing License to practice nursing in any state of the United States of America, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or territory of the United States.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Provider Card.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Two (2) years practice experience as a nurse in the acute care and/or ambulatory care setting including three (3) years of oncology nursing experience.
  • Hands-on experience in all routes of infusion therapy, including peripheral lines, PICCs, implanted ports and other central venous access and different chemotherapy regimen.

Working Conditions:

The Clinical Nurse will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing care to patients with cancer and cancer therapies. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple assignments. The position requires the ability to handle confidential information and maintain patient confidentiality.
