Job Summary

Bryan Health is seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in evaluating and examining gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens to ensure specimen adequacy and identify precancerous, malignant, infectious, and other pathologic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and examine cytology specimens from various anatomic sites to ensure specimen adequacy and identify pathologic conditions.
  • Apply established cytomorphologic criteria for gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens.
  • Ensure specimens are correctly collected and processed in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Accurately record and document all slides examined, including interpretation of each case reviewed.
  • Perform and evaluate quality control procedures and implement corrective action when indicated.
  • Work productively and efficiently during scheduled work hours as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and specimen information.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree from an American Medical Association/National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (AMA/NACLS) accredited school of cytolotechnology.
  • Documentation of successful completion of CMS-approved Pap Proficiency Test within the past 12 months.
  • Certification in good standing with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or eligible (CT, ASCP).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous cytology experience.
Working Conditions

The physical demands of this position require exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to distinguish and discriminate between colors.
