About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Fullstack Engineer to join our Micro Business organization at PayPal. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in leading the development efforts for our new peer-to-peer goods and services domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration and drive complex architectural discussions.
  • Minimize operational overhead by automating maintenance tasks and ensuring system availability.
  • Identify product or functionality gaps and collaborate with internal teams to define necessary developments.
  • Lead integration efforts and critical work streams for strategic initiatives.
  • Foster engineering excellence by developing reusable frameworks and driving high standards.
  • Proactively troubleshoot integration or technical issues.
  • Challenge existing processes and practices to drive innovation and improvement.
  • Promote best practices and create innovative solutions to enhance quality and excellence initiatives.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and analysts to build and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Deliver high-quality, maintainable code using test-driven methodologies.
  • Monitor and maintain critical applications, services, and products to ensure reliability and performance.
Requirements
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Over years of experience in designing and developing large-scale software applications.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Java, Spring Core, and Spring Batch.
  • Strong expertise in both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
  • Proficient in Functional and Object-Oriented JavaScript/TypeScript/ES6+ coding.
  • Hands-on experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks.
  • Deep familiarity with JavaScript and server-side JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience with remote data integration via RESTful APIs and JSON.
  • Passionate about mentoring team members and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and platforms.
  • Strong passion for designing and engineering rich user interfaces.
  • Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of version control systems such as GIT.
  • Ability to think logically, diagnose/triage issues, and make informed decisions.
  • Bias towards action, with a strong drive to execute and follow through.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Object-Oriented Design (OOD), and Functional programming languages.
