Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab plays a crucial role in supporting cardiac catheterization procedures by providing high-quality imaging and ensuring proper image storage according to departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate fluoroscopy equipment to produce clear images for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Accurately bill for each procedure and assist the cardiologist as a scrub assistant during catheterization procedures.
  • Monitor hemodynamics and collect relevant data.
  • Ensure proper operation of imaging equipment and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Assist physicians with images and sequences for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Perform as a Monitor Technician, acquiring hemodynamic and electrophysiological data.
  • Update procedure changes and prepare supply requisitions.
  • Manage communication in and out of the lab, including pages, lab specimens, and housekeeping requests.
  • Assist the physician as a scrub technician in diagnostic coronary arteriography and cardiac interventions.
  • Maintain competence in Radiographic Technician, Monitor Technician, and Scrub Technician roles with continuing education.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab is preferred.
  • Recent graduates from a Radiologic Technology program or licensed Radiation Technologists with five years of recent experience in the field may also be considered.
Licensure and Certification:
  • CA Fluoroscopy permit is required.
  • CRT (CA Radiologic Technology certificate) is required.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) is required.
