Senior Test Engineer

Job Summary: Quanta Manufacturing Fremont is seeking a skilled Test Engineer to develop and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts for functional and system-level coverage. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hardware testing and Python project development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test Planning & Execution: Develop, execute, and analyze test plans and scripts with a focus on hardware testing, ensuring thorough coverage of product specifications.
- Automation Development: Create and enhance automated test processes using Python to improve reliability and efficiency of both new and existing products.
- NPI Support: Collaborate with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team, developing project plans and managing critical milestones for product launches.
- Root Cause Analysis: Analyze failure reports to identify root causes and recommend improvements for product reliability and quality assurance processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with corporate R&D, Test Development, and Manufacturing teams to analyze test data, troubleshoot defects, verify fixes, and document results.
- Engineering Analysis: Conduct engineering failure analysis for product issues identified in the field and communicate product readiness and quality levels to project teams.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Hardware Testing Experience: Proven experience in hardware testing processes, particularly with servers, switches, and storage devices.
- Python Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, with hands-on experience in developing testing scripts and automated testing solutions.
- Linux Environment: Familiarity with Linux environments, including scripting for test automation and system management.
- Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of network technologies and protocols, including experience with switches and routers.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data collection, root cause analysis, and reporting practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Project Management: Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, building strong internal and external relationships.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of direct experience as a Test Engineer, specifically focused on hardware testing and Python project development in the computer industry.
- Experience in client/server environments and with automated test networks is desirable.
- A proven track record of high productivity in application, architecture, test programming, and debugging.
