About the Role:

The Retail Sales Associate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving sales growth at Blick Art Materials. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, generating revenue through effective product knowledge, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills training to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Complete and utilize various programs, including Blick Onboarding Training, Blick Sales Training, and Preferred Customer Program, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Display a positive and energetic attitude with all customer interactions, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for our customers.
  • Assist in the coordination of merchandise set-ups, maintain visual standards, and implement store displays as directed by store management.
  • Follow directions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Understand and act on procedures for reporting low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including day/evening shifts and holidays, as required by the needs of the business.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with the retail attendance policy.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders.

Travel:

  • Minimal travel in the local area may be required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months of previous retail, sales, and/or customer service experience.
