Position Overview:
This role is open to both Medical Technologists (MTs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs).
This position qualifies for our Clinical Laboratory Incentive Program. For more details on the program and eligible roles, please refer to our guidelines.
The incumbent will conduct various patient testing and administrative duties to support clinical operations.
Work Hours:
Flexible scheduling options include 4-10 hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, or a Monday to Friday schedule from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses issues related to equipment, test outcomes, specimens, and workflow.
- May engage in team collaborations or undertake special projects and assignments.
- May provide instruction to Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents, as well as training for new staff. May act as a technical advisor.
- Conducts quality control and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Performs routine and specialized testing procedures, including chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological analyses. Monitors tests and reactions, providing accurate data.
- Prepares specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as necessary.
- Communicates results to healthcare professionals and collaborates with them regarding test findings.
- Reviews test outcomes to confirm report accuracy and ensures timely correction of any discrepancies.
Additional Information:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Candidates must meet eligibility criteria to sit for the MT exam within one year of hire.
Licensure/Certification:
- Certification must be obtained within one year of becoming eligible for the exam.
Professional Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
MLT Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- An Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemical Science, or Biological Science is required.
Licensure/Certification:
- If holding an Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology, candidates must be eligible for ASCP or AMT Board of Certification and must obtain BOC within one year.
- If holding an Associate's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) is required.
Professional Experience:
- No experience is required.
