We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented New Grad Civil Engineer I: Structures to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for assisting in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements and systems, including buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate project requirements, constraints, and design criteria.
- Utilize structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools to perform structural calculations and verify design integrity.
- Support the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
- Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data, assess existing conditions, and evaluate design alternatives.
- Assist in the development of design reports and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, mechanical engineers, and construction professionals, to ensure seamless integration of structural design elements.
- Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices related to structural design.
- Contribute to quality control processes, including reviewing design calculations, plans, and specifications.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide support to project teams as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Exhibits an understanding of engineering principles relevant to the discipline.
- Attains knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCad or other software.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledgeable in MicroStation and/or AutoCad.
- Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.
