Job Summary

We're seeking a personable Spice Merchant (Retail Sales Associate) who knows about and enjoys food & cooking, and has the ability to share this knowledge with our customers. The ideal candidate will have retail experience and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in a specialty food retail environment
• Warmly welcome customers and assist them throughout their store visit
• Build rapport through conversation and honest recommendations about our spice products based on the customers preferences, needs, and desires
• Picking, packing, and completing customer orders through our Web pickup system and in-store POS
• Collaborate with fellow team members to keep the sales floor area and displays clean, organized, and restocked as directed by management
• Assist in maintaining the back stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year retail experience and/or relatable experience preferred
• Friendly, outgoing demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service - You genuinely like to connect with people
• Ability to express oneself clearly and persuasively when connecting with customers and making sales
• Calm, professional, and able to problem solve
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be willing to work weekends
• Passion for food and flavor is a must
