MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled Security Officer I Unarmed to join our team at MedStar St Mary's Hospital. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Emergency Response: Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers.
- Security Patrols: Conduct designated security patrols throughout the facility as directed, and may be required to patrol the hospital campus/grounds via security motor vehicle or bicycle.
- Incident Reporting: Prepare and submit reports and logs of all incidents, investigations, and activities, and maintain department records, reports, and files as required.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by aiding with wayfinding, parking, deliveries, and other requested information for the hospital and MedStar affiliates.
- Investigations: Investigate incidents and accidents, gather information and evidence, and notify appropriate authorities or superiors and call for back-up assistance, as necessary.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1-2 years related security, corrections, or law enforcement experience.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), SPO (Special Police Officer) preferred, IAHSS certification preferred.
