We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mathematics Tutor to join our team at the Academic Success Center. As a Mathematics Tutor, you will play a critical role in supporting students in advancing their competencies in mathematics, ranging from developmental mathematics to calculus 1. You will also extend support for the mathematics sections of other STEM subjects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with study strategies, content review/interpretation, and home assignments
  • Work with students individually or in groups, either face-to-face or online
  • Continuously work toward College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certification
Requirements
  • 3.0 overall GPA
  • Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at SHSU for at least 2 semesters
  • Maintained an A or B average in the course you are applying to tutor for
  • Two recommendation letters from faculty/instructors who can discuss your math skills and your ability to work with students
  • MUST have completed a FAFSA for the current academic term
